Hugo Chetcuti’s Fashion Advice: What to Wear to the Club

Friday night is here and you’re brimming with energy, ready to paint the town red with your besties and enjoy a well-deserved break! It’s time to bring out the big guns – that new make-up that half your last salary paid for (#YOLO), a pair of heels that will have you hobbling like Quasimodo by the end of the night and that handbag that put a considerable dent in your savings account. However, if you don’t know your mascara from your Manolos, Hugo Chetcuti’s fashion police are here to help. Read on for some of our trendy tips!

Wear Something That Fits

Let’s be clear right off the bat – you’re not Professor Xavier from the X-Men. Standing in front of the mirror for hours and simply willing your outfit to shrink is not going to work. Confidence is key, and wearing something that you’re comfortable in and that you love will make you feel better about the way you look. Not only that – tight clothes often make you feel hot and sweaty, making it that much more difficult to pull off those flashy dance moves in style.

Men: Bring out a Button Up Shirt

Simple, classic and easy – a denim or button-up shirt always looks good and it’s something that should really be a staple in your wardrobe. Designs in white always work well, and for summer, consider investing in something lightweight and cotton. Avoid patterns that look too formal or business-like.

Always Remember to Accessorise

As Hugo Chetcuti well knows, a nice watch or belt can dress up even the most basic of outfits and elevate your overall appearance. You don’t need to splash out too much or get something too expensive – something that stands out without looking too flashy is all you really need. A pair of nice earrings and fashionable heels can easily transform a casual outfit into something dressier.

Say NO to B.O.

You could walk out of the house looking like GQ’s latest cover model, but if you didn’t bother to crack open the deodorant it’s useless wondering why everyone at the club is studiously keeping their distance. Clubs are crowded and full of people, meaning that body odour travels at the speed of light. Don’t forget to apply a good anti-perspirant along with your favourite cologne or perfume.

With this advice in mind, head over to Hugo’s Terrace in St. Julian’s, owned by none other than Hugo Chetcuti. With two fully stocked bars, a dancefloor, VIP sofa seating and live performances by local and international artists, it’s a nightclub that never disappoints!
